Midwinter Revels On Tour

2023 sees the Midwinter Revels go on tour for the first time in Revels North history! With our usual home, Lebanon Opera House, closed for renovations this December, we will be taking the show on the road to three incredible theaters in NH and VT.

This year's Midwinter Revels show will be a celebration of Revels North, past, present and future, all building up to our 50th anniversary in 2024. We will explore songs from productions across our 49 year history, celebrate Revels traditions new and old, and most importantly celebrate our incredible community.

BE PART OF MIDWINTER REVELS ON TOUR!

Thank you for your interest in participating in Midwinter Revels 2023! This year's show will be a bit different, as we will be traveling to share the joy of Revels in 3 different communities. Another difference this year is that there are no auditions! We are looking for enthusiastic folks who are willing to commit to the rehearsal and show schedule as outlined below.  Please keep in mind this is preliminary, and there will be a one or two all-day rehearsals scheduled later in the season, as is normal for Revels.

There are different groups rehearsing for the show this year, and you are welcome to be a part of as many of these groups as you'd like (age dependent of course). For adults and teens (13+) there will be the Monday evening Chorus and the Tuesday evening Dance group. For Revels Kids (7-12) there will be both a Dance and a Singing/Acting group on Tuesdays. You can find more information about timings below.

MIDWINTER REVELS: ADULTS & TEENS (13+)

This year we are very excited to have two regular rehearsal groups for Adults and Teens, Midwinter Revels: Chorus & Midwinter Revels: Dance. Having these two groups will allow us to really dig in and explore these two Revels traditions in greater depth and make it much more fun!

Midwinter Revels : Dance

In this group we will explore a variety of different dance traditions from around the US, UK and beyond, think Morris, Sword, Step dance and more. This will also be a chance for all to learn some classic Revels dances such as the Abbotts Bromley Horn Dance! No prior experience necessary.

Midwinter Revels : Chorus

The Chorus is the core of the Midwinter Revels, the exciting musical glue that holds the show together and leads everyone on stage and in the audience in song! This year we will be exploring the Revels North archives and singing songs from many traditions and points in history. This will be a true celebration of Revels North past, present and future and the most varied chorus program prehaps in Revels North history!

But what about the Mummer's Play?

In comes I, the bringer of good news! There WILL be a Mummer's Play and we will begin rehearsals around late October. The aim is to pull interest from folks already signed up in the Chorus or Dance groups, and you will find a little check box in the registration to submit your interest.
